Exemplars Training
Date of Attendance: June 8, 2007
This informational session and training, held in Valdosta, Georgia, introduced administrators and teachers about the Exemplars Standards Based Assessment program. This is a great way to implement real life problems into a standards based curriculum. It helps students think through these situations, explain their answers, and demonstrate their understanding. It helps bridge the gap between the standards on a page and the application of the standards within the classroom. As an administrator, I feel that these workshops are important because finding programs that suppliment the state-mandated curriculum. From this workshop, I have found a program that naturally supports the math program our school is utilizing (Everyday Mathematics~the Wright Group).
